Plain-English version: the Smile Audit collects symptoms, ZIP code, and insurance plan to match you with a dentist. We do not store identifiable health records on the public site, and we do not sell your data.
Your audit responses are processed locally or through a privacy-preserving pipeline. Matched-dentist suggestions are computed from the recognition tiers and your inputs (ZIP, symptoms, language, insurance). The match itself does not require an account.
The public consumer site does not handle PHI. If you choose to share information with a matched dentist directly, that exchange is governed by the dentist's own HIPAA-covered practice — not by TheDentist.ai. We never pass identifiable health data to third-party AI vendors. De-identified, aggregated data may be used to improve the methodology.
The Smile Snapshot uses AI to generate plain-language explanations. Per California AB 3030, every AI-generated patient surface is labeled. Per SB 1120, clinical determinations require a licensed dentist — the snapshot is information, not diagnosis.
We follow California Penal Code § 632 (two-party consent). If a future product surface records voice, consent is captured before processing, and raw audio is not retained after transcription.
